Dear community,

Life in Gaza is becoming increasingly unbearable and dangerous, as the Israeli army is operating both in the south and in the center of the Gaza strip. Families are displaced from their homes and their temporary shelters - sometimes already twice or three times in the past months. Prices of fuel, water, and food are rising, as are the temperatures, and we are receiving more and more reports of hunger, thirst, and desperation. Amidst this crisis, we are continuing our efforts to alleviate the anguish of displacement, while providing immediate relief by offering essential sanitation and shelter solutions.

Our activities in June included:

• Installing 12 tents in Zawaydeh (Deir al-Balah).

• Purchasing and delivering 10-14 cubic meters of clean drinking water each day to the areas of Al-Mawasi and Zawaideh. This is enough for about a thousand families, at a cost of 500-700 EUR per day.

• Maintaining the sanitation and hygiene in the IDP camp Mesk and Layan, at an approximated daily cost of 100 EUR.

This month we have also started a fundraising campaign directed at Israeli donors. We would like to thank Michal Feldon and Daphna Shochat-Bagon for initiating, facilitating, and coordinating this heart-warming and successful call for donations!

Last but not least, thanks to your generous contributions and donations, we are able to launch our new project: the construction and installation of 100 toilets across 5 different IDP camps in Al-Mawasi and Zawaideh. Each toilet costs approximately 150 EUR and will serve 2 families, providing essential sanitation and improving living conditions. In the photos below, you can see the construction of wood-frames with tarp covers for some of the toilets; we plan to finish the construction of 50 toilets by the end of next week.
