Dear community,

We continue our work against the backdrop of an increasing displacement crisis in Gaza. With the deteriorating sanitary and safety conditions, the severe shortages of fuel, food, and clean drinking water, and the rising temperatures, we strive to alleviate the anguish of displacement, while providing immediate relief by offering essential sanitation and shelter solutions.

Our activities in the past weeks included:

Our new 100 toilets project: We’ve finished the construction of 50 toilets, providing essential sanitation and improving the living conditions of approximately 100 families. Two weeks ago, we committed to the construction and installation of 100 toilets across different locations in Al-Mawasi and Zawaideh, at the cost of approximately 150 EUR per toilet. In this link, you can see the locations of these toilets:

Purchasing and delivering clean drinking water to displaced communities in 3 locations. At the moment we deliver 7-10 cubic meters each day, which serve up to 1000 families and cost 350-500 EUR per day.

Delivering 250 hygiene kits (with sanitary pads) and empty containers for water.

Community support: on July 1-2, during the evacuation wave from the eastern village of Khan Younis, our volunteers suspended their work (besides water delivery) to accommodate the displaced persons, in cooperation with Damour for Community Development.

• The ZDF (Germany's national public television) broadcasted an interview with our team in Gaza, showing our work in Al-Mawasi and Zawaideh. You can see it here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8-IUpvo67u/?igsh=MTR4MmNhY3p3ZmM5bQ==

In addition, we are happy to announce our new partnership with the community organization Palestine House. Located in a five-storey building in the heart of London, Palestine House hosts a wide range of cultural and social events develops a community-driven membership, and forms partnerships to deliver cultural and educational activities and fundraise for development and humanitarian projects in Palestine.

On-ground Hero

Lastly, we wish to highlight the efforts of one of our team members in Gaza: Naser Abu Mostafa – or Hasouna, as everybody calls him.

Hasouna is one of the most hard-working people you may come across and has also offered his car to deliver whatever is needed in the camps.

Hasouna meets the IDPs with a nice smile to make them feel better, protected, and safe, and we wish to thank him for his work and care.
