Sanitation and Water Solutions

water tanks and toilets in am-Mawasi refugee camps Gaza

Toilets and Sewage:

In our efforts to mitigate the risk of a sanitary crisis, prevent exposure to viruses and sewage, and curb the spread of diseases in the camps, we have implemented a crucial initiative focusing on toilet units with showers. These facilities, constructed from tents, are not connected to a sewage line but rather to sewage pits.

After some trial and error, we began building more sophisticated units. These are constructed from more durable materials, ensuring better hygiene and comfort for the residents.

Additionally, we are making efforts to provide water tanks to complement these toilets.

We prioritize providing assistance to elderly and disabled individuals, ensuring their needs are met and their dignity preserved.

Water Solutions:

While our commitment remains steadfast to deliver clean water to the displaced people in am-Mawasi camps, we must mitigate the challenges to fully realize this goal due to the lack of water-unit components in Gaza. Nonetheless, we ensure the provision of clean drinking water for more than 800 families by covering associated costs. Furthermore, we are currently in the process of installing our first desalination unit in Zomi Shelter, which will benefit 3,000 families residing in the surrounding IDP camps.
