Clean Shelter: Urgent Call for Donations Water Solutions for Displaced Persons in Gaza

Dear all,

Since January 2024, Clean Shelter has been raising donations for the construction of toilets, showers, and tents in the camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Al-Mawasi (southern Gaza), in an effort to reduce the threat of a humanitarian and sanitary crisis, the exposure to bacteria, viruses and sewage, and the spreading of diseases. With the generous donations of more than 270 contributors, we have been able to support the “Mesk and Layan” IDP camp, offering shelter to more than 700 families, and to establish “Zomi Shelter Centre”, which accommodates 100 families – mostly consisting of women, children, elderly, and disabled persons. Now, our objective is to provide clean water for drinking, cooking and washing, for the displaced persons residing in “Mesk and Layan”, “Zomi Shelter Centre”, and neighboring IDP camps.

We are asking for your help to fund the acquisition and installation of a water desalination unit and two 5000-liter tanks to store water, as well as the upgrading of Zomi Shelter’s energy system with additional solar panels. This will allow us to provide clean water to approximately 3000 people, with an estimated cost of 15,000 Euro.
