Call for Donations #5: Solidarity for Sanitary needs and Shelter Solutions in Camps for Displaced Persons in Gaza

Dear all,

We, Seba and Tom, are raising donations for the construction of toilets, showers, and tents in the camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Gaza, in an effort to reduce the threat of a humanitarian and sanitary crisis, the exposure to rain and cold, viruses and sewage, and the spreading of diseases. At the moment, we are focusing on Mawasi-Rafah (in the southern part of Gaza).

The donations we have raised since the beginning of the year have already allowed us to assist with the construction of 28 toilets (some with a shower), each serving approximately 30 persons, and 30 tents that can accommodate approximately 10 persons each. In addition, we bought 60 mattresses and blankets. All this was made possible with the generous donations of more than 150 contributors, and we welcome you to take part in our effort and to donate for the sanitary aid for the displaced people of Gaza. In the photos attached, you can see the construction process of some of the toilets and tents that we’ve funded.

You can read more about us and our partners on our new website: https://www.sanitationforgaza.org/

Our aim is to build as many toilets and tents as possible. To facilitate our initiative, we have created a donation "fund" that is coordinated and monitored by Tom; she is in charge of collecting the donations, listing them, and then transferring them to Gaza, while keeping a conscientious log that is transparent and accessible to all those who have donated.

All donations, in all sums, are significant and appreciated –  you can donate directly to our PayPal address paypal.me/cleanshelter, and/or contact us via email: cleanshelter.ngo@gmail.com. You are also very welcomed to share our call for donations on social media (https://www.facebook.com/clean.shelter.ngo; https://www.linkedin.com/company/clean-shelter/; Instagram: clean_shelter_ngo), and/or send it to friends and acquaintances that may be interested in contributing to our donation fund.

We thank you in advance,

Seba Salem and Tom Kellner.
